Section Engineer – HPC Join BMD Group's Empower Advisory UK as a fully‑time Section Engineer based in Bridgwater, Somerset. The role requires a 10‑on / 4‑off shift pattern with working hours from 12:00 to 22:30. You will manage junior engineers, assist the Sub‑Agent in construction operations, and demonstrate a culture of safety and quality. The main responsibilities include: Regular communication and reporting to multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and coordination of subcontractors. Allocate labour, plant, materials and temporary works to carry out activities to the required standards, programme and budget. Assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, material procurement, resource and cost plans. Identify and resolve technical problems on site in liaison with the Sub‑Agent. Conduct site evaluations, develop Health & Safety and Quality documentation, provide technical expertise, prepare reports and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. People management including junior engineers, site engineers, sub‑contractors and operatives. Essential Qualifications and Experience Degree level, HNC/HND qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience). 4+ years of site experience, including setting out, utilities and earthworks. Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practice. IT skills including MS Office and AutoCAD 3D. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. BPSS level of security clearance is required. Desirable CSCS, SMSTS, TWS or TWC certificates. Experience with BIM/Digital platforms (P6, Aphex, MS Project). Aware of commercial processes.
