Head Waiter

The Gosling is an award-winning modern restaurant and bar located near Woking, on the edge of the scenic Horsell Common. Recently renovated, it has transformed into a sophisticated venue featuring all-day dining, a private dining room, and a stylish bar serving freshly crafted cocktails and beverages. The restaurant offers modern European cuisine in an elegant yet welcoming environment, catering to a variety of tastes. Role Description This is a full‑time Head Waiter position at The Gosling, based on‑site in Woking. The Head Waiter will lead and ensure smooth daily dining operations, including delivering excellent customer service, managing table settings, overseeing food and beverage service, coordinating with kitchen staff, assisting guests, maintaining service standards, and supporting the team to provide an exceptional dining experience. Qualifications Strong skills in Customer Service and Communication to ensure positive guest experiences and clear team collaboration. Experience with Food & Beverage and Food Service operations, including knowledge of modern European cuisine and menu presentation. A background in cooking or an understanding of kitchen operations to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff. Leadership skills and previous experience in managing or supervising a team in a hospitality environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site restaurant environment and resolve issues promptly to maintain service quality.
