Renal lead for Southwest Maternal Medicine NetworkApplicants are invited to apply for a one‑year fixed‑term role (with likely extension), as Renal Lead for the South West Maternal Medicine Network. The role would suit an applicant with a CCT in obstetrics with a strong interest in the care of renal patients.The role attracts 0.25 PAs and commences in November 2025 for 1 year initially.We will be reviewing all SWMNN Network lead roles in November 2026, so there will likely be opportunity to continue with this role beyond November 2026.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrating leadership in renal maternal medicine, including education and care plans.Liaising with SWMMN obstetric, medical, anaesthetic, midwifery, renal and governance leads about renal patients and care plans.Attending Nephrology MDT to discuss renal patient care plans as required.About usNorth Bristol NHS Trust employs over 12,000 staff providing healthcare to the residents of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset from our award‑winning hospital building at Southmead. We welcome applicants from all underrepresented groups.QualificationsCCT (or equivalent)Maintain full registration with the GMC.Higher academic qualification (e.g. MD or MS).Training and ExperienceRecent experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices (or equivalent).Experience in renal medicineFurther Training, Management and AuditEvidence of recent CME/ reasonable training progression at this stage of career.Experience in audit project and written upKnowledge of contemporary NHS management issuesKnowledge of political context within which we operateResearch, Teaching, PublicationsProven teaching ability.Proven track record in research.Evidence of relevant publications in peer reviewed journals.Demonstration of involvement in clinical directorate management.Willingness to undertake teaching of medical under‑graduates & postgraduates.Willingness to undertake further research.Ability to gain the trust and confidence of colleagues and patients.Personal RequirementsGood written communication skills. Evidence of the ability to communicate with patients, colleagues and staff at all levels.Good verbal communication skills.
