Our client is looking for an experienced Maths Lead Tutor to join their amazing team

Based on-site at HMYOI Werrington as the Maths Lead Tutor, it will be your responsibility to lead and develop a team approach to deliver a high-quality service to learners. Your role will include teaching hours, leading by example as an excellent practitioner is key to this role.

You will support the Assistant Education Manager in overseeing the performance of the functional skills department and, as part of the management team you will be responsible for maximising contract performance, developing curriculum, delivering quality provision, and exceeding the expectations of partners and learners in line with the company ethos of ‘Improving Peoples Lives’.

Responsibilities:

* Delivering education in prisons is a role in which you can truly be effective in improving people’s lives.

* Challenging, yet extremely rewarding, you will play a significant part in helping to reduce our learners re-offending.

* The staff play an integral part in identifying the training requirements of our learners, building them a training plan, and helping them to overcome any barriers to employment.

* As the Functional Lead Tutor, it will be your responsibility to lead and develop a team approach to deliver a high-quality service to learners.

* Your role will include teaching hours, leading by example as an excellent practitioner is key to this role.

* You will support the Assistant Education Manager in overseeing the performance of the functional skills department and, as part of the management team you will be responsible for maximising contract performance, developing curriculum, delivering quality provision, and exceeding the expectations of partners and learners in line with the company ethos of ‘Improving Peoples Lives’

* Prison based roles are 100% site based, with the expectation of prisoner face to face contact.

What are they looking for?

* Level 3 Maths & English or equivalent

* Full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or equivalent - (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLS)

* Clear understanding of the OFSTED framework (EIF) with the ability to meet all standards

* An expert in your field with substantial experience

* Experience of delivering training

* Ability to display a wide range of training methods to engage learners.

* Confidence in using a diverse range of presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.

* The ability to identify and implement continuous improvements to the curriculum in line with the needs and demands of learners and employers.
