Five Education is supporting a special school in Bristol and we are looking for a Teaching Assistants on a supply basis. All the children who attend this school have an EHCP where their main need is SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs). We require confident and experienced teaching assistants to support the children on a day to day basis. These roles are temporary at the moment but have the potential to become long term if you get along well. Ideally, we are looking for candidates who are experienced in working with children, and those with challenging behaviour in particular. Sports coaches who are looking to move into the classroom full time are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities and duties Supporting students in the class Assisting students in their work Working 1:1 and in small groups Assisting students with their social and emotional development, including appropriate responses and building relationships Implementing behaviour management tools in line with the school's policy Essential Criteria A flexible and resourceful approach Patient and able to relate to the students You will be able to demonstrate strong behaviour management skills Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa) Two recent child based references and relevant DBS/ Police checks Access to bicycle, car or near main bus routes Able to work 8.30-3.30, 4-5 days per week term time only If you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70.
