OverviewSpecial needs teaching assistantZen Educate are seeking someone to work at an alternative provision in Bristol on a full time and long term basis supporting primary aged students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. This would ideally be starting in the New Year and be working 8:30-3:30 Monday to Friday and term time only.ResponsibilitiesSupport primary aged students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.Engage students in their education and contribute to a stable and safe environment for expression in healthy ways.Work within a small-class setting (class sizes around 6 students) with available adult staffing to support.Build positive relationships with students, maintaining clear boundaries and expectations.Collaborate with other teaching assistants and teachers to discuss student progress and needs.Demonstrate resilience and the ability to manage daily challenges associated with students who may have difficult behaviours.RequirementsExperience in working with special needs, specifically those related to mental health.Experience in working with children, ideally in a school environment, but not essential.A resilient attitude and the ability to handle challenges of difficult behaviours, with a strong understanding of how to build relationships with such students.Reliability and consistency as a team member who can honor commitments.Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with teaching assistants and teachers about students and their progress.An enhanced DBS on the update service (either current or to be submitted on application).BenefitsZen can offer competitive pay, training and support to help you excel with the potential to go permanent should the placement work well.Get in touch today to see if you can make a difference and a positive change to a vulnerable student. #J-18808-Ljbffr
