The Nuclear Medicine department at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated Clinical Technologist or Radiographer. The successful applicant may be expected to rotate through all aspects of the department including diagnostic nuclear medicine, radiopharmacy and PET-CT. Experience in all of these areas is desirable but not essential. Applicants must be HCPC registered or eligible for the Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT). Consideration will also be given to offer this post on a band 5 development opportunity if a suitable applicant does not meet the full specification of the band 6 position. Main duties Work as a senior nuclear medicine practitioner, actively involved in all aspects of technical work required for imaging, non‑imaging, in‑vitro counting, therapeutic and radiopharmacy procedures. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within Nuclear Medicine, consisting of admin and clerical staff, technologists, radiographers, nurses, physicists and clinicians. The post holder may be required to rotate through all areas of the department including radiopharmacy and PET‑CT, work without supervision, participate in the supervision of junior qualified and unqualified staff, and perform flexible working practices to ensure daily workload is fully covered. The post holder is expected to take part in the organisation of the workload, provide guidance to junior staff and liaise with other senior technologists, medical, nursing and secretarial staff. On occasion, the postholder may be the most senior practitioner and act as the daily operational lead for the department.
