SEMH Teaching Assistants – Supply roles in Stockport and surrounding areas, starting ASAP These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEMH Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings in Stockport and the surrounding areas. You will work with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, supporting their learning and well-being in a range of classroom environments. Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant: Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities Help manage behaviour and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment Support pupils with emotional regulation and coping strategies Encourage independence and social interaction among pupils Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant: Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs (school or care setting) Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural challenges Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations Strong communication and teamwork skills A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Why Step Teachers?
