The post holder will contribute to the provision of the clinical laboratory service, and support the team of Biomedical Scientists and support workers. Job responsibilities See attachment for full Job Description As part of the team the post holder will have a highly developed knowledge, experience and competency in Cellular Pathology techniques and must have Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) State Registration. Registration enables the post-holder to work unsupervised. The post will be on Gateshead Health NHS Trust terms and conditions of employment. Person Specification Qualifications BSc in Biomedical Sciences, Specialist Portfolio (if applicable to grade) or equivalent, Professional Registration 3 Years post graduate specialist training. Minimum of 3yrs experience of modern laboratory techniques and good knowledge of current professional issues. Current Specialist BMS experience within a clinical laboratory or equivalent experience. Post Graduate Diploma Leadership course Experience of highly specialised techniques Experience Substantial experience is required with evidence of specialist training. Significant in-depth experience of modern laboratory techniques and good knowledge of current professional issues will be required. Experience of BCSP including Connectivity applications and software. Experience in BCSP support including delivery of training and competence assessments.
