Programme Finance Manager London | Hybrid working (2 days in office) | Up to £50,000 + 10% pension, private healthcare, 25 days leave + time off at Christmas This is a fantastic opportunity to join an international development organisation making a tangible difference in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions. You’ll take ownership of financial management for a major, multi-million-dollar grant focused on climate adaptation and disaster resilience, ensuring strong financial control and compliance across complex, multi-country operations. What you’ll do Lead the financial management and reporting of a high-value donor‑funded project, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance throughout. Oversee project expenditure and reconciliations, maintaining robust financial records and monitoring budget performance. Produce detailed financial reports and forecasts, providing clear insight to support programme planning and decision‑making. Identify variances and risks, offering practical recommendations to improve project delivery and value for money. Enhance internal systems and controls, refining tools and documentation to strengthen audit readiness and financial governance. Collaborate with programme and operational teams to ensure consistent financial understanding and compliance across all delivery partners. Support wider finance projects, including donor submissions and audits across multiple international programmes. The ideal candidate will have Part‑qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with a strong technical accounting foundation. Experience managing finances for restricted or grant‑funded projects, ideally within the international development or not‑for‑profit space. Solid understanding of donor compliance and financial reporting requirements. Proven ability to manage budgets, prepare financial statements, and analyse performance within complex programmes. Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships across teams and regions. Analytical, adaptable, and proactive, with a focus on process improvement and problem‑solving.
