Senior Advisor – UK BAT Team – London, England, United Kingdom Job Description As a Senior Advisor on the UK BAT team, you will lead the development and publication of Best Available Techniques (BAT) conclusions that set new environmental standards for industry. You will collaborate with technical working groups, coordinate authors, and produce final documents that support policy, legislation and industry best practice. Responsibilities Support the drafting of BAT Conclusions and ensure they meet high technical and legal standards. Coordinate the work of technical authors and manage the review process. Engage with industrial stakeholders through workshops, debates and presentations. Maintain an evidence‑based, transparent, and collaborative approach to BAT development. Oversee the preparation of final documents for publication as UK wide environmental standards. Manage project timelines, deliverables and quality to achieve outcomes on schedule. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental regulation across industrial sectors. Comprehensive knowledge of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation (e.g., IED, Environmental Permitting Regulations). Strong understanding of BAT principles, professional communication and stakeholder engagement. Proven project and programme management skills with a focus on delivering technical documents. Critical thinking and analytical skills to review arguments and data. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead interdisciplinary teams. Required Skills Interpret BAT implications for permits and industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Planning, prioritising and organising tasks to ensure timely results. Adaptability to respond flexibly to challenges and forge consensus. Analytical capability with complex industrial data. Cultural competence and support for diversity and inclusion.
