Job Description Do you want to make a lasting positive change to the environment? As a Senior Advisor in the UK BAT team you can. Overview Large installations in the UK are required to use ‘Best Available Techniques’ (BAT) to reduce emissions to air, water and land. The UK BAT Senior Advisor will lead the development and drafting of BAT Conclusions, liaising with Technical Working Groups and presenting the final document for publication as a new, UK‑wide environmental standard for industry. Responsibilities Support the drafting of BAT Conclusions and coordinate the work of technical authors. Review technical documents, ensuring accuracy, clarity and compliance with national and European legislation. Engage with stakeholders, including industry, policy makers and the public, to foster consensus and share best practice. Project‑manage tasks and resources, delivering outputs on time and within budget. Represent the UK BAT team in external meetings and contribute to the development of new environmental standards. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of evolving regulatory frameworks and technological advances that impact BAT. Qualifications & Experience At least 5 years of relevant work experience in environmental regulation or industrial process engineering. Solid understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, including the IED and Environmental Permitting Regulations. Experience coordinating and reviewing the publication of complex technical documents. Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of preparing clear reports and giving engaging presentations. Excellent project‑management, prioritisation and organisational abilities. Proven ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and influence outcomes through evidence‑led argumentation. Travel & Working Arrangements Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
