Electrical Inspector – Commercial Test & Inspection (2391) Location: London Salary: c. £50,000 OTE (£38,000 base, PLUS bonuses), a company van (with fuel card), and solid benefits Hours: Normal working hours are days, however there are requirements for unsocial working to accommodate customer needs. Here at PTSG we're an industry leading award winning safety specialist who operate across 5 areas, today we're going to focus on our specialist Electrical Safety division made up of PTSG ES, Guardian Electrical, Electrical Compliance and Safety. PTSG ES specialise in fixed wire test & inspection (EICR's) of commercial and industrial premises. Whether that's a School, Hospital, Office block, Retail unit or something else no two days are the same. In a world of inconsistency and lay-offs here at PTSG we're busier than ever and with our ongoing commitment to growth we're tendering for even more work. Due to this we're looking to increase Test & Inspection (2391) engineers. With financial security and the chance for personal development and career progression these are great opportunities. What you’ll actually be doing (cutting through the jargon): Running full-scale inspections and tests on commercial and industrial fixed wiring and switchgear—and compiling EICRs that actually matter Spotting what's not quite up to scratch, logging it, and telling the story of what needs fixing—in clear English, not bureaucrat-speak Using testing gear and reporting software like a pro—precision meets efficiency Working independently, adapting daily, and keeping your cool—because each site throws its own challenges Staying on top of EICR standards (BS 7671, IET wiring regs, City & Guilds credentials) to keep everything above board What we expect from you: A minimum of around three years of similar experience—Test & Inspect, remedial repairs, or compliance-heavy work all count The proper qualifications: City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent), NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition certificate—proof you know what you’re doing A full UK driving licence—van not for decoration, but your mobile HQ You’re detail-focused, self-starting, and professional—always thinking “what might trip us up tomorrow?” What’s in it for you: Roughly £38K base, with bonuses driving you toward c.£50k OTE—that’s your skill paying dividends A company van/mobile base Vivup access, giving you discounts on holidays, fitness, shopping, tech—benefits that actually land where it counts The latest tools and tech to make inspections smoother—not stodgy or outdated A mature workplace—zero office politics, plenty of respect, chances to grow, and permanent roles that don’t ghost you Send us your CV, and if we like what we see we will be in touch within a day or so to arrange an initial call with one of our Talent Partners.
