About The RoleAre you an experienced Electrical Inspector looking to make a real impact in your community? Join Islington Council’s Capital Works Team and help us deliver safe, modern, and compliant electrical systems across our social housing portfolio.As an Electrical Inspector, you’ll play a key role in the Engineering Building Services Team, managing and delivering a wide range of Capital Works cyclical replacement electrical projects including:Emergency Lighting SystemsDoor Entry InstallationsCCTV and Security InfrastructureLateral SuppliesElectrical mains DistributionColumn Estate LightingYou’ll oversee client-side inspections for electrical installations on projects from initial design through procurement and delivery, ensuring works are completed to the highest standards for electrical safety and quality control.The role requires significant experience within the electrical technical industry.In addition, the role demands candidates with strong commercial aptitude and professional standing, as well as the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.For the electrical compliance aspect, candidates must have a solid understanding of relevant regulations and standards within the electrical industry.They should also be able to demonstrate that they have maintained their Continued Professional Development (CPD).As the electrical inspector you will be joining a robust and professional team of electrical engineers working in the residential social housing sector responsible for cyclical replacement of electrical services to a building stock of approx. 2,500 residential block buildings to circa 30,000 dwellings and homes.You will join a team of highly skilled Building Services professionals. You must be computer literate and have experience in producing technical reports that can be shared with the wider team.You must have experience working in electrical contracting or consultancy demonstrating skill and knowledge relevant to the electrical social housing sector.Support the development of a five-year asset management and capital improvement plan through robust and proactive approach toward asset data gatheringMaintain excellent levels of customer care and service deliverySelection by interview and test.What We’re Looking ForProven experience working as an electrical inspector undertaking condition surveys, writing reports and performing electrical inspections in housing or public sector environmentsStrong technical knowledge and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and manage your own workloadFamiliarity with procurement and contract administrationCommitment to health & safety and regulatory complianceExcellent communication skills and a commitment to outstanding customer care.A proactive, self-motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative team environment.Why Join Us?At Islington, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking team that values innovation, collaboration, and community impact.
