About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead and expand the commercial and sales function within a growing precision engineering business. This is a pivotal, senior-level position focused on B2B sales, strategic commercial leadership, and business management.
You will play a key role in developing the commercial strategy, driving new business opportunities, and overseeing the sales team. Acting as a close partner to the Managing Director, you will effectively operate as the Deputy MD, supporting high-level decision-making and the long-term growth of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the commercial and sales team
- Drive B2B revenue growth across precision engineering and aerospace clients
- Build and execute commercial strategies to support business expansion
- Work closely with the MD on operational, commercial, and strategic planning
- Strengthen customer relationships and develop new business pipelines
- Oversee pricing, proposals, contract negotiation, and commercial governance
- Promote best practice across the commercial function and wider business
Key Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience within the Precision Engineering sector is essential
- Strong leadership background with previous management experience
- Knowledge of 3, 4, and 5-axis milling and turning
- A strong network within the Aerospace industry is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage a commercial/sales team in a technical environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and business development skills
