As a Technical Author in the UK BAT team you can help draft Best Available Techniques (BAT) for Large Volume Inorganic Chemicals (LVIC) installations, reducing emissions to air, water and land.ResponsibilitiesDraft BAT Conclusions and coordinate with Technical Working Groups.Present final documents suitable for publication as new, UK‑wide environmental standards.Analyse technical arguments and data critically.Write clear, concise technical documents.Manage projects and deliver on timelines.QualificationsAt least 5 years of experience in the LVIC industry.In-depth knowledge of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, particularly the IED and the Environmental Permitting Regulations.Strong understanding of process engineering and environmental issues.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to develop relationships and influence stakeholders.Project management capability and drive to complete tasks.Additional RequirementsCollection and technical analysis of complex industrial data.Understanding the implications of BAT Conclusions in permits, on industry and the environment.Planning, prioritising and organising tasks to ensure timely results.Responding flexibly to challenges and building consensus.Benefits & Working ArrangementsWe welcome flexible working patterns, including job share.
