About the role Due to the continuing success of Carriages on the outskirts of Hereford, we have a vacancy within our kitchen brigade for a passionate Commis Chef or Chef de Partie. This role will offer variation across our outlets. In this role, you will: Set up the kitchen prior to opening. Ensure adequacy of supplies at the cooking stations. Prepare ingredients that are frequently available. Prepare portions as food orders come into the kitchen. Control and manage stock. Wrap unused items and store them properly at the end of the shift. Clean the kitchen before the restaurant closes. Enforce strict health and hygiene standards. We offer a share of tips, an average of 37.5 hours per week, and additional benefits. Learning and Development opportunities. About the candidate Previous experience in a Commis or Chef de Partie role. Proven experience in prep and culinary skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Proven excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes. Ability to multi‑task and work efficiently under pressure in a fast‑paced environment. Knowledge of best cooking practices. Proven organisational skills. Proven listening and communication skills as well as written skills. Ability to quickly learn new recipes and new cooking procedures. Proven effective time management skills. Ability to solve problems quickly. Food hygiene certificate. Ability to be flexible with working hours.
