Receptionist The closing date is 10 December 2025 We are looking to recruit experienced, full or part-time receptionists (max 30 hours) for The Emergency Department at The Northumbria Hospital in Cramlington covering a 24 hr service, 365 days of the year. The job involves working a variety of shifts to cover the 24 hour period including 0800-2130 days and night‑shifts 2000-0800 Please note we reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date once the required number of suitable applications have been received. Main duties of the job The role involves a wide variety of tasks including meeting and greeting patients and relatives on arrival to the hospital, answering telephone enquiries, recording attendances to A&E on a computerised system (PAS data entry) and scanning A&E documents. Job responsibilities To provide an efficient administration and clerical service to unit staff, visitors and patients for emergency attenders, soft tissue and associated out‑patient clinics. To provide a reception service, acting as first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals. To facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning.
