We are looking for an enthusiastic Production Engineer with an electronics/test bias to join our team. In this position, they will support operations, designing and producing test equipment for in-process sub-assembly testing and LRU/RMA Testing, and writing test plans for these activities. They will also provide technical support to the Operations department to improve processes and resolve technical issues.Key Responsibilities:Interface between Engineering and Production teams from a test perspective, helping determine in-process testing required during production to improve build quality and reduce rework time.Provide electrical and test support to effectively address engineering production problems, minimizing delays.Design and develop test equipment, assist in procurement of equipment, jigs, and fixtures.Develop test plans and procedures, and coordinate production engineering processes to ensure high-quality products that meet customer requirements.Support Engineering with implementation of Change Requests (CRs).Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance capacity, quality, and reliability, supporting Continuous Improvement activities. Implement cost reduction initiatives to achieve year-on-year savings.Assist the quality department with inspection and investigation activities.Contribute to budget preparation and monitor expenses.Perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime of test and production assembly equipment.Fault-find electromechanical equipment, investigate problems, analyze root causes, and derive resolutions.Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology, and production processes.Travel as required to assist customers with technical and production issues, ensuring customer satisfaction.Assist with training production staff, providing knowledge transfer within the workplace.Adhere to company procedures, policies, and goals, upholding the company's reputation.Follow health and safety regulations and guidelines at all times, working conscientiously and safely.Follow procedures as specified in the Quality Manual.Maintain a clean and orderly office and workshop, ensuring good housekeeping.Reflect on and improve personal performance.Skills & ExperienceEssentialAt least 5 years’ relevant experience in a test/engineering environment and/or qualification such as BTEC/City & Guilds level 2.Excellent knowledge of testing electrical and electromechanical equipment.Ability to read complex technical drawings, including wiring and PCB schematics.Good communication skills—verbal and written—across diverse audiences.DesirableExperience in staff supervision or mentoring.Knowledge of LabVIEW software.Knowledge of PLC programming.Experience using CAD software.Good knowledge of digital camera and video protocols.Personal AttributesDemonstrates our company values of Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence, and Courage.Highly organized and methodical, with an eye for detail.Ability to work independently when required.Flexible, conscientious, and diligent attitude.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills.Resilient and adaptable.Work life balance:Lunchtime finishes on a Friday28 days annual leaveChristmas closureGroup pension plan with up to 5% matched contributionsEmployee Assistance Programme including remote GP, mental health support, physiotherapy, and second opinion servicesLife assurance, bereavement counselling, and probate helplineCompany shares incentive plan and Save As You Earn schemeElectric vehicle salary sacrifice schemeWellbeing initiatives, including wellbeing app and mental health supportRegular activities promoting wellbeingSports and social activitiesReward platform offering discounts and benefitsOpportunities for learning and developmentOnsite free parkingSecurity Clearance Requirements:Due to business nature, UK Security Clearance is required.
