Technical Support Engineer – Industrial Electrical Control & Automation Excellent Negotiable Salary Package, Pension, and Other Benefits. Our Client requires a Technical Support Engineer with experience in electrical control and automation to provide sales and technical support to an external customer base. The role involves developing and maintaining customer relationships and promoting products and services to maximise sales opportunities. The position is ideally located in the West Midlands (Wolverhampton, Bilston, Willenhall, Wednesbury, Walsall, Brownhills, Cannock, West Bromwich). Key Responsibilities: Respond to and handle automation product technical enquiries. Understand and be familiar with the full product range; offer alternatives and advise on product selection. Liaise with Field Sales Engineers and other staff to achieve branch objectives and sales performance. Generate quotations for customers, judge competitive situation, and win orders while mindful of profitability. Engage in other duties as part of a team environment. Key Qualifications and Experience: GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent). ONC/HNC/BSc in Electrical Engineering (or other electrical engineering qualification) – or equivalent experience. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and data entry systems. Full clean driving licence. Experience in a similar sales/customer service environment. Background in electrical engineering or electrical distribution (advantage). Ideal candidate may have experience as an internal sales engineer, technical support engineer, electrical engineer transitioning to a commercial environment, or a graduate engineer with customer experience in a sales environment looking to develop a career in technical sales.
