Job Description Join to apply for the Development Officer role at Cambridge City Council. Role Summary We are looking for a Development Officer to help manage the delivery of sustainable housing developments by Cambridge City Council. As part of the council’s Development team you’ll be involved in the delivery of a range of projects including new council homes, community centres, commercial units and heritage buildings. This covers all stages, from initial strategic planning, through to feasibility, detailed design and then into construction and handover. Responsibilities You will support a portfolio of work, working with partners and stakeholders, in setting up new development projects, managing current projects, guiding design team meetings, project site meetings and public consultations/engagements. You will ensure the council delivers on time, within budget and in accordance with the Employers Requirements. You will develop skills in project, contract, compliance and risk management. About You Passionate about housing development and delivery of quality sustainable homes for our residents Reliable, trustworthy and with integrity Committed to developing productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders Has experience in development Interested in sustainability Working towards MRICS qualification or equivalent Work Details Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week. Working patterns typically 8‑4 / 9‑5 with some evening work. Flexible arrangements may be discussed. Contract: Permanent Salary: £41,771 – £47,181 per annum (City Pay Band 6), pro rata for part time. Location: Cambridge City Council works in an agile manner but you will be required to work from our central Cambridge office a number of times a week. You will be able to balance your work location accordingly.
