Job Overview The post holder will work in an integrated multidisciplinary team focusing on adults suffering from a wide range of mental health problems. The role involves assessing patient needs, planning and implementing care plans, providing supervision to junior staff, and developing clinical practice. The post holder will work within the custodial environment at HMP Berwyn, collaborating with service users, health and social care colleagues, and HMPPS staff to achieve health outcomes and reduce re-offending. Key Responsibilities Assess patient needs, plan and implement care plans. Provide supervision, guidance and support to junior staff. Act as a role model and resource for the mental health team. Ensure practice aligns with Codes of Professional Practice and health board standards. Work in partnership with service users and other health and social care professionals. Develop and maintain integrated team provisions, including primary and secondary mental health care caseloads. Person Specification Qualifications NMC registered Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN). Up-to-date working knowledge of the Mental Health Act (1983). Essential Criteria Significant post-registration experience at Band 5 or equivalent. Experience of proactive liaison in a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary health and wellbeing environment. Desirable Criteria Evidence of further relevant professional development. Experience within relevant and varied clinical areas. Desirable: ability to speak Welsh; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.
