Job Description

Here at Impact Recruitment, we are working closely with a Manufacturing company based in Northampton to hire a Quality Inspector.

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 (DoE)
Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 15:30, Friday 07:00 - 12:30
Location: Northampton

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inspection of components for conformance to specifications against technical drawings.
  2. Ensuring that operations meet the quality requirements of internal and customer standards.
  3. Completion of production Approval to Runs and Quality/Process audits.
  4. Ensuring that the assembly operations comply with standard work, packing & labelling requirements.
  5. Completion and maintenance of records in accordance with the Quality Management System.
  6. Performing gauge calibration and/or organising outsourced services for calibration.
  7. Carrying out MSA studies to ensure that gauging processes are effective.
  8. Key involvement in continuous improvement activities.

The ideal candidate will:

  1. Have knowledge and understanding in interpreting engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
  2. Have previous inspection experience.
  3. Possess good mathematical understanding of trigonometry and measurement error.
  4. Be able to perform 'first principle' inspection using a range of measurement equipment.
  5. Be competent in the use of all Microsoft Office packages.
  6. Exhibit excellent communication skills.
  7. Show self-motivation, enthusiasm, and the willingness to be fully 'hands on'.
  8. Have the drive to develop skills and abilities.
