Technical Administrator Location: Whitley Bay - SSAIB Head Office Type: Full Time SSAIB is the leading certification body specialising in providing certification services to the security and safety industry. Our scope of activity includes the certification of organisations supplying security systems and services, fire safety equipment and services and alarm monitoring. Certification with SSAIB is a mark of excellence and, with over 2000 small and larger companies registered, we represent the greatest number of security service providers in the sector. We are looking for a motivated Technical Administrator to join our team and support registered firms to demonstrate corrective action is taken to meet the certification requirements. Under the direction of the Operations Manager and Technical Manager, the Technical Administrator will play a pivotal role at SSAIB and work with the wider team to improve processes, develop effective ways of working and be actively involved in undertaking technical projects and research. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build your technical skills within a supportive, team-focused environment, ensuring British Standards are adhered to at all times. Responsibilities Complete assessments of evidence provided by registered firms relating to nonconformity reports (NCRs) Providing technical guidance and assistance to administrative staff and auditors to aid and develop their knowledge Answering technical and general queries on the phone and by email Communicating with customers to ensure certification can be awarded Reviewing information provided by auditors (e.g., content of audit reports) and taking required action Undertaking technical projects and research Providing assistance to the Technical Manager and Operations Manager with day‑to‑day operations and contribute to meeting KPI targets Identify trends and patterns to inform new ways of working Liaising with applicant and registered firms, office staff, auditors, and other stakeholders Complete associated administrative tasks and maintain accurate records within the SSAIB's management database Ensure all works are completed in line with relevant Standards and Codes of Practice Assisting the Compliance Manager with issues relating to complaints Supporting the marketing team (e.g. representing SSAIB at national exhibitions) Maintain safe working practices and adhere to all Health & Safety policies The above list of duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected from time to time. The successful candidate will hold a valid driving licence and have a willingness to travel nationally to meet the needs of the business.
