Job summary The Forensic Brain Injury Service is delighted to offer a Senior Clinical Psychologist post, on a part-time basis (0.74 WTE, 27.75 hours). The post is based in the inpatient psychology service at Guild Lodge Regional Secure Unit, which includes medium and low secure, men's, women's services as well as the nationally recognised Forensic Brain Injury Service. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join the experienced multidisciplinary team in the Forensic Brain Injury Service. The post holder will contribute to the provision of a high quality, specialist clinical psychology service, to service users with complex forensic, neuropsychological, and high-risk needs across medium and low secure settings. Candidates wishing to develop their skills and knowledge in the areas of neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation, psychosis, personality difficulties, and developmental trauma will find the setting to be of particular interest. Main duties of the job The post holder will be expected to assess and formulate service user risks and needs and provide a range of group and individual interventions where necessary. An interest in developing skills in neurobehavioural and cognitive rehabilitation, and relational and integrative approaches such as Schema Therapy may be an advantage, as training and supervision may be provided in both frameworks. The post holder will contribute to the development of the psychological knowledge and skills of the wider multi-disciplinary workforce through consultation, joint working, training and supervision of other professionals. You will also be involved in developing the national profile of the service through contributing to service development, evaluation, and research where possible. As part of the wider Psychological Services Team, the post holder will have opportunities to develop expertise in all aspects of forensic/clinical practice. Person Specification Qualifications Essential Evidence of BPS accredited Doctoral Level Training qualification in Clinical Psychology. Health & Care Professions Council Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist. Evidence of continuing professional development consistent with professional and HCPC requirements. Experience Essential Experience of working as a clinical psychologist or as a trainee clinical psychologist with clients with complex and enduring mental health and risk needs. Experience of clinical neuropsychology such as undertaking a variety of neuropsychological assessments and interventions. Experience of multi-disciplinary / multi-agency working. Knowledge Essential Doctoral level knowledge of clinical psychology including highly developed knowledge of lifespan developmental psychology, models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology. An interest and commitment to developing clinical skills in the specialism of clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation Highly specialised knowledge of the theory and practice of psychological interventions with clients who present with a wide range of clinical and risk behaviours.
