6 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants VDCN is developing the UK’s next national digital infrastructure: Vehicle Data Communications Network, a secure, regulated backbone designed to support the Government’s forthcoming transition to per-mile road-usage charging for electric vehicles. The platform is already built and preparing for pilot with public-sector and industry partners. VDCN aims to become the UK’s equivalent of the Smart Meter DCC – but for vehicles. This is a unique opportunity to join at the earliest stage of a national-scale infrastructure initiative. Role Description We are seeking a highly motivated Head of Capital Raising (CCO-Track) to lead VDCN’s investment strategy and secure capital from UK-based investors, government-aligned funds, infrastructure partners, and strategic institutional backers. This role is ideal for someone who has strong investor relationships, understands infrastructure or climate-tech investment, and wants to take a founding executive path toward becoming Chief Capital Officer (CCO) as the company scales. Qualifications Develop and deliver VDCN’s capital-raising strategyIdentify, contact, and engage investors across institutional, strategic, public, and private networksLead investor outreach, pitch refinement, negotiation, and closingBuild long-term relationships with UK infrastructure funds, climate/energy investors, and Government-aligned capital.Manage investment materials, financial models, due diligence, and data roomsAdvise the founder on capital structure, valuation, and strategic financing decisionsRepresent VDCN to external stakeholders including investors, councils, and mobility partnersGrow into the CCO role as capital milestones are achieved Requirements Experience in raising capital for start‑ups or infrastructure/climate‑tech venturesStrong understanding of UK investment networks, especially institutional or government‑adjacent investorsAbility to communicate complex technical or policy‑related propositions clearlyConfident presenting to senior decision‑makers and investment committeesEntrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independentlyExisting relationships with investors is highly advantageous Compensation This is a performance‑based role designed for a founding‑level leader.
