Freelance Project Manager – Civils / Tunnelling Location : Cardiff Rate : £400 per day Duration : 9 Months Bond Recruit Limited are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to oversee a major civils and tunnelling project in Cardiff for a specialist contractor known for delivering complex underground engineering works across the UK. Role Overview You will lead the delivery of a key tunnelling / civils project, ensuring works are executed safely, on time, and within budget. The role requires a strong communicator who can manage site teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and maintain high standards of compliance and project reporting. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations across the project, ensuring smooth delivery of tunnelling and associated civils works Lead progress meetings and produce regular internal and client-facing reports Oversee subcontractors, site teams, and specialist suppliers Ensure compliance with all H&S requirements, RAMS, and quality procedures Maintain programme schedules, track progress, and mitigate risks or delays Liaise with local authorities, utilities, and project stakeholders Monitor costs and assist with commercial management where required Drive strong site culture with emphasis on safety, productivity, and communication Requirements Proven experience as a Project Manager within Civils, Tunnelling, or Underground Infrastructure Strong understanding of CDM, site safety, and construction regulations Excellent project planning, coordination, and leadership skills Ability to manage multiple teams and interface with client representatives Strong reporting and communication abilities SMSTS, First Aid, and relevant engineering qualifications preferred What’s on Offer £400 per day 9-month freelance contract Opportunity to work with a specialised and respected tunnelling contractor Immediate start available #J-18808-Ljbffr
