OverviewAs Junior Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. This is a fantastic chance for someone ready to take the next step in their career, bringing creativity, leadership, and a passion for food to a fast-paced and rewarding environment.ResponsibilitiesCater to residents across the Village which comprises the care home, catering for serviced suites, villagers who have booked a meal in the Restaurant/Spa or for meals to be taken across to their apartments or for other specific eventsPrepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulationsBe aware of residents, villagers and Wellness Spa clients\' dietary needs - responding to their comments and requests in respect of the menuBe involved in the preparation and serving of the meals on the hotplate, as requiredEnsure that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable (high risk) goodsEnsure a welcoming, safe and compliant environment for our residents to dine inHelp to maintain a clean and hygienic working areaQualificationsPassionate about food, experience in a professional kitchen, ideally catering for customers with special dietary requirementsUnderstanding of health and safety procedures, ideally with an NVQ or equivalent City & Guilds and CIEH Level 2 Food Safety Award or equivalentOpen to new ideas with an innovative yet organised approach to cooking, always adhering to high standards and remaining calm during a busy serviceEnjoy working with others to create and deliver an excellent dining experience at each mealAbout Bupa – Contract and BenefitsContract: Permanent - Full time, 45 hours per week across 5 days.
