Proposals Manager (PM) As Proposals Manager (PM), you will work closely with the Head of Proposals – UK Construction and regional bid/sector teams to support Sisk’s work‑winning activities, identify and develop operational best practice, and raise the standards in how we produce and manage bids. Responsibilities Develop innovative strategies (capture, win, sector, etc.) and translate them into successful proposal management plans, including win themes, answer planning, evidence capture, presentation, and submission into programme delivery. Interact with senior colleagues and build relationships with teams across internal business units. Encourage bid best practice and champion work‑winning strategies throughout the proposal lifecycle. Apply Sisk’s work‑winning process to help technical experts and proposals team provide innovative ideas and high‑quality evidence. Take a proactive role in writing standard content, CVs, and project profiles, closing gaps by interviewing/consulting relevant parts of the business. Proof and copy‑edit responses to ensure compelling, benefits‑driven copy. Proactively develop and manage a network of subject‑matter experts. Identify and re‑work existing pre‑written content in line with specific questions and bespoke to individual client requirements. Re‑write and edit proposal responses from stakeholders, coordinating contributions from operations, commercial, legal, customer, HR and finance. Take the lead in writing compelling, factual, focused executive summaries. Manage review deadlines – lead, guide and coordinate quality colour reviews, program them into the bid plan, issue guidance, evolve best practice and drive value through the review process at all stages. Develop and translate key messages through graphics and well‑presented documents. Deliver completed written proposal responses against agreed deadlines. Post‑bid presentations – ensure storyboards and/or scripts align to bid strategy and produce additional supporting materials as required. Capture all new content within the Bid Content Library (Aftercare). Record and share lessons learned / best practice. Apply client bid feedback to future responses to drive continuous improvement. Flexibility to travel to sites throughout the UK when required. Qualifications & Experience Extensive experience of hands‑on proposals management within a construction environment. Desirable sector experience in healthcare, residential, commercial, or public sector. A degree‑level qualification in an appropriate subject. Pro‑active approach, taking initiative and responsibility for own actions. Confidence to delegate to all levels when required. Strong written English language skills. Proficiency in MS Office; Advanced MS Word skills. Experience of Adobe Creative Suite software package (essential). Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and communicate and influence at senior levels. Ability to work individually as well as part of a team. Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard working hours. APMP, CIM or another professional membership is an advantage but not essential.
