Headquartered in New York with offices in Beijing, Brussels, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Los Angeles, Luxembourg, Palo Alto, São Paulo, Tokyo and Washington, D.C., the Firm provides coordinated legal advice and transactional capability to clients around the globe.Description/Job SummaryTo provide support to the Real Estate M&A team including transaction related compliance and general administration tasks.Responsibilities/DutiesResponsible for end-to-end delivery of transaction-related compliance workstreams on private equity M&A transactions (including ABC, Cyber and ESG due diligence and KYC)Collating transaction-related information from legal counsel and client deal teams for the purposes of completing compliance and KYC checksReviewing due diligence summaries prepared by legal counsel prior to submission to the clientCompletion of transaction-related compliance reports for submission to client at the end of each transactionGeneral oversight of entire compliance process, with responsibility for updating and improving process in line with updates to applicable regulation/legislation and client requirementsAssist with resolving compliance/regulatory issues that arise on transactions as part of due diligence or KYC processesUpdate trackers and run weekly client calls to update client on workstream status across multiple transactionsGeneral administration tasks and other ad hoc duties as requiredRequired SkillsLaw degree is essential1 - 2 years’ experience in a similar role is essentialStrong time and task management skillsShould be very organised and methodical in approach to workAbility to manage multiple priorities and escalate issues promptlyDemonstrate a sense of urgency and solid work ethicCapable of working independently, while remaining a strong team playerMeticulous attention to detailIntellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in compliance and real estate industryEffective communication skills, both written and verbalDetailsSalary and Benefits: CompetitiveHybrid: Monday-Thursday in office, ability to WFH on FridaysEqual OpportunitiesSimpson Thacher is committed to being a Firm where everyone can reach their full potential, irrespective of background, identity or circumstance.
