Clinical Lead - Theatres Location: Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital – Plymouth, UK. Role: Permanent, Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, up to £46,800 per annum. We are looking for a Clinical Leader to help build a healthier nation. You must be registered with the appropriate governing body and have the relevant qualifications and post‑registration experience in surgery/anaesthetics, including as a Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner. Responsibilities Support the Theatre Manager in the efficient running of the Theatre and Recovery areas. Co‑ordinate activity and be responsible for patient care and safety. Be instrumental to the patient experience, ensuring seamless, personalised care. Work well with consultants who are experts in their field. Apply your knowledge and skills in assessment, care planning and delivery. Champion a supportive, enabling culture within the theatre and recovery team, promoting staff wellbeing and patient safety. Conduct and organise the Clinical/Surgical and Endoscopy team within theatre, including the smooth running of the theatre lists and organising booking forms and assisting sessions. Work collaboratively and flexibly across the theatre suites to accommodate the service demands of each department (Endoscopy, General, Orthopaedics, Gynae). Promote effective clinical risk management and governance within the department, including safety and risk management, quality improvement and ensuring policies and procedures to enhance patient care and service delivery. Have extensive knowledge required for dealing with audits and equipment. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of surgical techniques and associated equipment. Relevant qualifications and post‑registration experience in surgery/anaesthetics (Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner). About the Hospital The Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital is situated next to the Nuffield Health Devonshire Gym, in Derriford, Plymouth and has been part of the Plymouth community since 1971. It has 3 main theatres – 2 laminar flow and 1 digital, a fully JAG accredited endoscopy suite, a 35‑bed ward with one 4‑bed bay and one 2‑bed bay. Our outpatients department has 12 consulting rooms. We carry out treatment under a range of specialities including Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery.
