Safety-Focused Operational Risk Officer - Be the Guardian of Our Safety Culture Position Overview The Operational Risk Officer serves as a safety champion within our organisation, playing a pivotal role in creating and maintaining a secure working environment where safety is everyone's priority. This position is the cornerstone of our risk prevention strategy, identifying potential hazards before they become incidents and implementing robust safety protocols that protect our most valuable asset-our people. Working within Ground Handling operations, you'll collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to ensure unwavering compliance with the highest safety standards in the aviation industry. Your expertise will directly contribute to preserving lives, preventing injuries, and safeguarding our reputation as a leader in operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Risk Prevention & Mitigation: Apply your comprehensive knowledge of Ground Handling operations to proactively identify potential safety threats and implement protective measures before incidents occur. Safety Intelligence: Conduct thorough safety inspections and internal audits across all Ground Handling activities, equipment, facilities, and staff procedures to ensure compliance with critical safety regulations. Safety Innovation: Identify opportunities for safety enhancement by developing and implementing new protective policies and procedures, collaborating across departments and management levels. Quality Assurance: Fulfil the ATC role for QR product, vigilantly monitoring for anomalies and escalating safety concerns to senior management and airline partners when necessary. Safety Leadership: Represent safety priorities in internal, customer, and stakeholder meetings, providing compelling updates on risk management performance backed by data-driven insights. Culture of Protection: Champion dnata's Safety Culture and STOP initiative throughout operations, engaging directly with staff to build safety awareness through coaching, advising, and creating open dialogue about safety matters. Team Development: Provide specialised safety coaching and coordinate advisory support for frontline teams, empowering them to make safety-conscious decisions independently. Incident Response: Complete comprehensive safety reports following established protocols and support management with thorough incident investigations to prevent recurrence. Preventative Auditing: Conduct proactive safety audits against established benchmarks, identifying emerging trends and areas for risk reduction. Strategic Analysis: Utilize advanced analysis techniques to identify patterns in operational risks and detect emerging safety threats before they manifest. Risk Assessment: Collaborate with the safety department to review and enhance risk assessments, identifying location-specific variations that require customised safety approaches. Professional Communication: Maintain clear, concise, and effective communication channels about safety priorities across all organizational levels. Strategic Support: Undertake additional safety-related duties as assigned by management to strengthen our overall security posture.
