Vision: Changing Lives through Education The Role Job Title: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer. The role involves maintaining, installing, and refurbishing fabric and equipment across the GBS UK estates portfolio. Duties include monitoring building condition, performing repairs and renovations, assisting Estates and Facilities in refurbishment project planning, and supporting other GBS UK campuses. The position requires flexible working across all campus operating hours and occasional out‑of‑hours work. Responsibilities Preventative and reactive maintenance of buildings and equipment Health, safety and compliance procedures Documentation and inventory management Refurbishment and fit‑out project support Travel and flexibility as required Requirements 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard Previous experience in building maintenance including M&E systems Manual skills and knowledge of refurbishment techniques Flexible proactive “can‑do” attitude Familiarity with COSHH requirements for equipment and chemicals Interpersonal skills, able to work independently and as part of a wider facilities team Full, clean driving licence Benefits 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays 1‑day extra leave per year of service, up to a maximum of 5 days Workplace pension scheme Tuition reimbursement for career development courses Flexible benefits: Cycle to Work, Workplace Nursery, Techscheme, and more Perks@Work discount platform, wellbeing centre, and more Reward and recognition programme £500 employee referral award Discretionary annual performance bonus GBS is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and providing a workplace free from discrimination or harassment.
