What you'll do Drive sales, manage costs, and build strong supplier relationships, whilst supporting your team to source and buy the products our customers love Inspire the wider team and role model Co‑op behaviours and values to drive our commercial team forward for the future Be responsible for delivering our financial plans through an end‑to‑end Food business approach, taking shared ownership of our Commercial KPIs and 4‑year‑plan Drive sales by being customer focused and delivering profitable customer propositions Maintain excellent working relationships with suppliers and outward industry partner relationships on behalf of Co‑op Proactively plan for the future growth of your category by analysing external market trends to spot new opportunities Work with insights to identify trends and convert them into customer centric propositions Requirements Proven negotiation skills within a sales or trading environment Strong commercial and financial acumen An awareness of industry trends and the current market Experience leading and motivating a successful team Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information Benefits An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance) 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays A pension with up to 10% employer contributions Private healthcare for you and your family Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ) Coaching and training to support your career development Wagestream app – giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn Building a diverse environment We're actively building diverse teams and we welcome applications from everyone.
