We are a four-site training practice with 4 GP Partnersand 4 salaried GP with a full complement of administration staff, ClinicalPharmacists Physician Associates, and a further range of PCN roles. Approximately 25/30 hours a week. You will be based largelyat our Clay Lane Site with the view of being able to work at other sites whenneeded. We are looking to recruit a motivated and committed PracticeNurse to join our supportive, enthusiastic, and friendly team. General practiceexperience preferred but not essential. Person Specification: UK registered nurse with valid NMC PIN number and significant post experience Must have good knowledge on Quality Outcomes Framework Must be able to relay clinical information and maintain accurate, comprehensive consultation records, EMIS web & Docman Must have PC Skills ideally will be able to use basic word, excel & email Able to work in changing environment and implement change when applicable to provide high quality health outcome Main duties of the job Duties will include but list is not exclusive: Cervical Cytology Childhood, Age-appropriate & Travel immunisations including stock control Wound care, including suture removal and dressings Any other duties delegated to the post About us Due to our now 4 practice sites this enables ease of attendance locally to our patients, a greater number of appointments offered and a wider range of services made available. Our patients have the option of attending any of our 4 sites situated in CV1, CV2, CV5, CV6 areas of Coventry. Job responsibilities Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by GPs Wound Care/ulcer care/Doppler Removal of sutures New patient medicals/Urinalysis Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry Ear Syringing Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations Chaperoning and assisting patients whereappropriate who are being examined by another clinician Assisting GPS with minor surgery and coilfittings Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate Clean and sterilise equipment Maintain and clean equipment used by nurses andGPs Maintain GP and Nurses rooms, stoking androtating items as required Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stocklevels Participation in administrative systems in thepractice Maintain accurate records Attend and participate in practice meetings Any other delegated duties appropriate to thepost Confidentiality In the course of seeking treatment, patient entrustus with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to theirhealth and other matters. They do so inconfidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacyand act appropriately. In the performance of the duties outlined inthe job description, the post holder may have access to confidentialinformation relating to patients and their carers, practice staff and otherhealthcareworkers. Information relating to patient’s carers,colleagues, other healthcareworkers or the business of the practicemay only be divulges to authorised personals in accordance with the practicepolicies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection ofpersonal and sensitive date. Health & Safety Implement and lead on a full range of promotion and manage theirown and others health and safety and infection control as defined in thepractice Health & Safety policy, the practice Health & Safely Manualand the practice Infection Control policy. This will include but not be limited to: Awareness of national standards of infectioncontrol and cleanliness and regulatory/contractual/professional requirementsand good practice guidelines. Responsible for the correct and safe managementof the specimens process including collection, labelling, handling, use ofcorrect and clean containers, storage and transport arrangements. Responsible for hand hygiene across thepractice Ownership of infection control and clinicallybased patient care protocols and implementation of those protocols across thepractice. Active observation of current working practices across thepractice in relation to infection control, cleanliness and related activities,ensuring that procedures are followed and training needs identified, escalationissues as appropriate. Identifying the risks involved in workactivities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risksacross clinical and patient process Making effective use of training to updateknowledge and skills and initiate and manage the training of others across thefull range of infection control and patient process Monitoring practice facilities and equipment inrelation to infection control ensuring that provision of hand cleansing facility’swipes etc. are sufficient to ensure a good clinical working environment. Lack of facilities to be escalated toresponsible management Safe management of sharps procedures includingtraining, used, storage and disposal. Using appropriate infection control procedures,maintaining work areas in a tidy, clean and sterile and safe way free fromhazards. Undertaking periodic infection control trainingas agreed with the Practice Manager Routine management of own team/team areas, andmaintenance of work space standards.
