Secondment – 6 months.Local AuthorityLondon Borough of Richmond upon ThamesAbout the RoleYou will support council residents who receive adult social care services by completing financial assessments in line with council policies and the Care Act 2014. The role requires a clear understanding of statutory obligations, strong communication skills and the ability to work independently to meet targets.ResponsibilitiesAccurately calculate client contributions for council residents in receipt of adult social care services.Respond to general enquiries from service users and representatives about financial assessments, outstanding invoices and charging policy via phone, letter and face‑to‑face meetings.Administer applications for secured social care loans and deferred payment arrangements.Work independently, process financial information and support vulnerable adults with their care and support needs throughout the assessment process.Essential Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceExcellent customer service skills.Strong communication abilities.Good numerical skills with attention to detail.Ability to work as part of a busy team and independently.Self‑management of caseload to meet targets and deadlines.Desirable QualificationsExperience in Adult Social Care Financial Assessment.Knowledge of the Care Act 2014.Experience in similar fields such as Housing Benefits.Indicative Recruitment TimelineClosing Date: 2nd November 2025Shortlisting Date: W/C 3rd November 2025Interview Date: 17th November 2025Benefits40 days annual leave (including bank holidays)Flexible working arrangementsGenerous pension planEEO & EqualityThe London Borough of Richmond upon Thames is committed to equality and diversity, and upholds safeguarding.
