In a nutshell In Sainsbury’s Tech we build the technology which powers the UK’s number 1 multi-channel, multi-brand retailer. Responsibilities Manage all store and project works as allocated by the Installation Services Manager to enable the delivery of an improved colleague and customer service offer on time and to agreed quality and budget. Work with key stakeholders and third‑party suppliers to ensure any enhancement activities impacting the store infrastructure are managed to minimise disruption to store operations in agreement with the PM. Liaise with the Installation Services Process Design team to produce signed‑off project deployment documentation where required. Create and distribute activity timelines for each store to all internal and external parties, and arrange and lead a TECH PIR upon completion, reporting the output to the Installation Services Manager. Communicate scope, timelines and requirements clearly and accurately to all relevant parties to ensure successful delivery of each store or project. Liaise with key third‑party stakeholders to request appropriate engineering resources for each store to ensure all activities are delivered on time and to agreed quality and cost. Produce hardware picking and staging requirements for store activities to agreed timescales and ensure these are met without issue. Raise requests for third‑party suppliers as required for each store activity and programme to agreed timescales and budget. Thoroughly review all third‑party quotations for accuracy and pricing and request purchase orders to be raised along with CPAR of funds requests via the Installation Services Finance Team. Manage, monitor and own all costs related to deployment and investment activities and keep documentation updated which records forecast and actuals. Act as a central point of contact for all related activities, recording issues accurately and in a timely manner via appropriate documentation, providing support and advising on resolutions through consultation with relevant teams as required. Regularly assess risks and issues, providing support, implementing resolution or mitigating actions, escalating where necessary to minimise factors that could delay the store launch. Ensure sign‑off is obtained from all internal and third‑party parties for completed activities and ensure appropriate charges are levied by third‑party suppliers. Focus on populating and maintaining all team records and process documentation along with trackers and central libraries. Contribute to Property PIRs and ensure any learnings are incorporated into future activities. Provide out‑of‑hours on‑call support on a rotational basis to cover 365 days per year. Make on‑site visits at agreed times with the Installation Services Manager and attend on‑site meetings as advised and agreed by your line manager at various locations; UK travel is required. All installations handed over to Retail and or Logistics are delivered to a high standard and are fit for purpose and on time. Essential skills Able to showcase vast experience gained by managing multiple, concurrent activities/projects, preferably within a fast‑paced multi‑channel store or retail environment. Experience operating successfully within a team environment, dealing with stakeholders and third parties and achieving core goals. Initiative to prioritise workload and manage tasks through to completion to deliver the best end goals for all key stakeholders. Complete all technical activities as required to support the TECH element of new store opening. Comfortable interacting with all levels of key stakeholders in an articulate manner up to director level. Able to evidence excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Demonstrable self‑drive and self‑discipline in all areas. Strong knowledge of all MS Office applications, particularly Excel. Previous experience working in a retail environment is desirable. Proven experience of a similar role being delivered. Immersion in continuous improvement activities that benefit the team and company. Takes responsibility, owns the issue and resolves it through identifying and working with the relevant individuals on own merit. Proactively able to manage stakeholders with updates including resolution activities before being asked for them. Excellent technical ability and understanding of store infrastructure and set up along with store systems. Excellent communication and organisational skills. What decisions I can make Decisions as necessary to ensure successful launch or opening of each store, programme, investment and project, including capital spending (variable depending on project value) as agreed with your line manager. Sign‑off of scope and plans for each enhancement project. Re‑work resources to deliver the most benefit to key stakeholders and programmes.
