Electrician – Together Housing GroupCalderdale area Overview We are looking for an Electrician to join our Repairs & Maintenance team. As an Electrician you will provide all types of electrical repairs to tenanted and vacant properties, delivering a customer‑service quality driven repair and maintenance service. Responsibilities Carry out all types of electrical repairs to both tenanted and vacant properties in accordance with job tickets, opti‑time appointment slots, specifications and contract drawings, building regulations and applicable standards. Work with an ethos of “Right First Time”, completing a repair where practicable in one visit, with good quality workmanship and performance. Organise work to minimise lost or non‑productive time, highlighting proactively if you have too much or too little work so that it can be re‑allocated. Assist in addressing peaks and troughs in workload by working overtime, at other times when requested by prior arrangement with your manager, and participating in a stand‑by or call‑out rota. Use your initiative to diagnose and undertake a repair which may be different from the job required, obtaining approval beforehand when the job is more expensive than anticipated or will take longer than expected. Work to a consistently high standard of workmanship in line with service specifications, service standards and safe working procedures, as part of a team to ensure efficient use of time, materials and resources. Qualifications Electrical qualification – NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Installations or equivalent. Knowledge of BS7671:2018 requirements for electrical installations. Full UK Manual driver’s licence. Experience of working competently in all disciplines normally expected of a qualified electrician/electrical technician and other associated building disciplines as required. Relevant post‑qualification experience. Experience of working in a customer‑service environment. Experience of maximising number of jobs completed and repairs completed in one visit. Benefits Starting salary: £35,229 per annum, with yearly reviews and potential increases up to £39,298, based on experience and qualifications. Company van available for personal use. 27 days annual leave (rising to 32 over five years’ service) + bank holidays. Work a total of 37 hours per week, scheduled between 08:00 and 19:30 across any five days from Monday to Saturday. Additional earnings due to call‑out rota. Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
