You will be accountable for the delivery of an exceptional level of underwriting service whilst building relationships with brokers and colleagues. This will be a great environment for someone that is ambitious and keen to learn, with plenty of scope for personal development and growth.CHALLENGED NOW AND-EXPERT NEXT.ResponsibilitiesProvide support and contribution to the implementation of the wider UK & IRL Fleet Underwriting strategy.Use own underwriting skill, experience, and judgement to personally analyse, evaluate and underwrite a range of small and medium sized new and / or renewal business.Develop relationships with brokers that will support the delivery of our business plans and long-term strategy.Ensure underwriting standards are always maintained.Support team on premium collection and credit control when appropriate.Use underwriting knowledge, experience, and judgement to act as an underwriting referral point where required for delegated authorities.To undertake ad hoc project work on behalf of Head of Fleet.To comply with all relevant company policies, personal underwriting authority, FCA regulations and all legal requirements.Be accountable for own day-to-day effective performance whilst operating with a degree of autonomy and to take responsibility for longer-term personal development.Knowledge, Experience & QualificationsChartered Insurance Institute Certificate (cert CII) or Diploma (DipCII) progression desirableEducated to A-Level standardMathematics & English qualification essential – GCSE grade A-C equivalentTechnical fleet underwriting or broking experience (2 years+ desirable)High level of both verbal and numerical reasoning skills.A strong understanding of the UK Fleet Motor MarketA good understanding of the structure of commercial policy wordingsBasic understanding of contract law and insurance case lawUnderstanding of the impact and requirements of relevant regulatory bodies and legislation on the insurance industryBasic understanding and awareness of claim handling, reserving and claims account managementGood analytical & evaluation skillsJudgement & decision makingPrinciples of Commercial Motor InsuranceRelationship buildingNegotiating skillsStrong communication (written and verbal) skills.Ability to work under pressure & / or unsupervisedCustomer focusPersonal time managementCommercial awarenessDrive and energyTeamworkBasic software skills including MS Word, Excel & PowerPointWhy Join Us?We\'re all about helping you grow, with plenty of support to develop in your current role whilst also creating opportunities to explore new ones and advance your career.We realise that we need to be a good fit for you above all else – so here’s what you can enjoy about AND-E :Recognised as the Best Large Insurance Employer: We are proud to have been named the Best Large Insurance Employer for 2023 at the prestigious British Insurance Awards.Unmatched Work-Life Balance.Competitive Salaries and Benefits Package: We offer competitive salaries that recognise your skills and expertise.We champion choice, flexibility, and balance in both work and home life.
