This pivotal role offers a competitive hourly rate of £250 per day (Umbrella PAYE), alongside access to high-quality training and career development support. The Senior HR Employee Relations Advisor (Sickness Lead) will lead the Council’s approach to sickness absence management, providing expert guidance to reduce absence levels and promote consistent application of policies. The role also spans broader HR responsibilities, including high-risk and complex employee relations matters. Key Responsibilities Deliver responsive, high-quality HR services aligned with Council objectives Manage complex and high-risk employee relations cases with professionalism Provide proactive, outcome-focused support across the organisation Champion behaviours and practices that enhance HR service delivery Contribute to people initiatives and organisational programmes Stay current with HR legislation, policy updates, and best practices Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal supervision The successful candidate will demonstrate: Proven success in employee relations, including complex casework, TUPE, and strategic HR projects Experience managing sensitive ER issues consistently within large organisations Skilled in report writing and communicating complex matters to varied audiences Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders Excellent planning and organisational abilities with a results-driven mindset Creative problem-solver with a track record of delivering innovative solutions Capable of leading multiple programmes and managing competing priorities Sound understanding of public sector dynamics and drivers for change Financially astute with commercial awareness Up-to-date knowledge of people leadership, management, and organisational change Flexible approach to working hours based on role demands Previous experience within a local authority is essential About us: For almost 60 years, Pertemps Recruitment Partnership have been the market leader in providing permanent and temporary staffing solutions and we are one of the most established players within the recruitment industry.
