Job Summary Qualified Practice Nurse Due to retirement, we are looking to recruit a dynamic, forward-thinking, fully qualified Practice Nurse, with a proven history working in General Practice. A full-time or part-time role would be considered for the right candidate. Main Duties of the Job Venepuncture and recording of vital signs Post operative wound care and leg ulcer management Routine injections and immunisations to include child vaccinations Contraceptive advice / pill checks Cervical cytology Health promotion and guidance to patients Chronic disease management About Us We are a small to medium sized practice based in a purpose built medical centre in Grimsby and also have a branch surgery in Laceby. The practice team includes a Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant, Pharmacist and an administrative team. We also have access to wider community services such as the Community Nurse, Complex Care Team, First Care Practitioners and Dietitians. An enthusiastic nurse is sought to join our team. Details Date posted: 18 November 2025 Pay Scheme Salary: Depending on experience Contract Permanent Working Pattern Full-time, Part-time Location Cromwell Primary Care Centre, Cromwell Road, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, DN31 2BH 6 Caistor Road, Laceby, Grimsby, DN37 7HX Job Description Attend to patients who need care; diagnose and treat a range of conditions and advise on continuing medical and nursing needs. Include telephone triage and booked appointments, with the ability to see extra or emergency patients. Assist in and perform routine patient care tasks directed by senior nursing staff and GPs. Post operative wound care and leg ulcer management. Removal of sutures, urinalysis and chronic disease reviews for diabetic patients. Peak flow readings, venepuncture, blood pressure measurements. Routine injections and immunisations, including child vaccinations. Contraceptive advice and pill checks. Cervical cytology. Chaperone and assist patients during examinations by other clinicians. Request basic pathology tests (e.g., urine culture, swabs). Follow clinical protocols and refer to senior nurses or GPs when required. Maintain and clean equipment, GP and nurse rooms, stock and rotate items as needed. Undertake housekeeping duties for nurse and treatment rooms. Order vaccinations to maintain stock levels. Participate in administrative systems and maintain accurate records. Report potential problems or errors within assigned tasks to management. Attend and participate in practice meetings as necessary. Occasionally undertake home visits if required. Perform any other delegated duties appropriate to the post. Person Specification Qualifications Registered Nurse. Desirable NMC Independent Nurse Prescriber. Experience Experience working in Primary Care / General Practice.
