Join a great organisation that offers a comprehensive employee experience and a technology‑enabled support service for over 8,500 vulnerable individuals across Gateshead.Responsibilities• Monitor the 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre, providing mobile response and support for vulnerable clients.• In‑based duties include call handling and associated administrative tasks; act as the main point of contact for the Council out of hours.• Make and pass on messages, dealing with major incidents, road or drainage issues, homelessness queries, and Adult & Children’s Social Care emergencies.• Out‑based duties involve falls response and mobile visits, annual planned visits, new client visits, installation of technology and key safes, and fault checking of equipment.• Work well in a busy environment, manage emergency or emotionally challenging situations, respect privacy and dignity, and communicate effectively.Qualifications• Experience in a customer service environment or healthcare role.• Ability to handle emergency situations over the telephone or in a personal care setting.• Flexible approach to working hours, availability to cover a 24‑hour shift pattern.• Good IT skills and an NVQ Level 2 in customer services, social care, or housing support (or willingness to work towards one).• Valid UK driving licence (manual).Shift Patterns1 × 24 hours1 × 14 hours 40 minutes1 × 12 hours 53 minutes2 × 11 hours 17 minutesBenefitsCompetitive salary: £26,824 – £28,142 per annum (pro‑rated for part‑time)Generous pension schemeHealth and well‑being support, cycle‑to‑work scheme, discounted leisure facilitiesAnnual leave: 28 days per year, rising to 32 days after five years (pro‑rated) plus up to 10 extra daysBlue Light Card scheme and a range of employee benefits from our partner Viv upRobust workforce development programme and learning opportunitiesApplicationInterested candidates should visit the full job profile and apply online.
