Hybrid and flexible working arrangements and family-friendly policies are just some of the ways we invest in employee wellbeing.Join us and you will thrive personally as well as professionally.Role OverviewWe are currently recruiting a Clerk of Works to join our Built Asset Consultancy team to work closely with colleagues to manage the quality of our projects in logistics and manufacturing, residential, education, healthcare and commercial sectors.Role ResponsibilitiesLead risk management workshops with project stakeholders to review quality risks for work packagesVerifying compliance of the works with contractual drawingsMeasuring and quality checking building materialsFinding solutions to issues in partnership with the project teamsMonitoring progress and reporting to construction managers, Architects and clientsLiaising with contractors, engineers and surveyorsRaising rework and defects, and preparing reports using our digital field toolsKeeping detailed records of workPerforming regular inspections of the work, materials and products on-site and comparing completed work with drawings and contract specificationCarrying out reviews of record information with contractors and subcontractors to check the sufficiency of the informationChecking that building regulations, health and safety, legal and ecological requirements are achievedEnsuring that the works are carried out in line with the quality defined by the Works InformationMaintain and grow client relationshipsMay be required to work out of hours shifts depending on project and contractCandidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will provide technical expertise to deliver commissions and projects across all RIBA stages, including working closely with designers and consultants to identify and advise on technical quality matters through design, construction and handover.QualificationsMembership or working towards the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI)Previous experience as PFP installer and supervisor is requiredSector relevant qualifications, NVQ Level 2 Passive Fire Protection as a minimumExperience in developing and implementing processes for effective defect managementDemonstrate up to date technical knowledgeKeeping up to date with current regulations and complianceMeticulous in ensuring all work meets the highest standardsStrong ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholdersCapable of finding practical solutions to complex issuesKeeping up to date with current building regulations and complianceExperiencePrevious experience as a Clerk of Works on large-scale residential and commercial projectsExperience in developing and implementing processes for effective rework and defects managementExperience in using document management systems to review and comment on drawings and specificationsExperience in utilising digital field tools to monitor and report on rework and defectsDemonstrating excellent up-to-date technical knowledge relevant to the roleCapable of working as part of a project delivery team to coach, mentor and guide stakeholders on technical mattersBehavioursRecognised as a client-focused, positive collaborator who shares knowledge freely and offers support to their peers and seniorsRecognised as a team player with a strong willingness to learnDemonstrates a positive and proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial resultsRLB Employee BenefitsOur culture is built around enabling you to fulfil your potential, so you can look forward to benefits that include:Hybrid Working - Working patterns to support your work-life balance.
