Commercial Property Claims Handler Join Direct Line Group as a Commercial Property Claims Handler in Manchester. This is a full‑time, permanent role that operates within a hybrid schedule (2 days a week in the office). Direct Line is evolving. What you’ll be doing Triage new technical and/or large claims – Property, Subsidence, Environmental, Liability, Injury and Motor. Handle retained technical claims end‑to‑end. Spot, investigate and manage potential fraudulent claims. Investigate and negotiate indemnity and liability, identifying opportunities for recovery. Manage litigated cases, working closely with in‑house and panel lawyers. Own and manage risks in line with the Direct Line Group risk framework. Control indemnity spend and reserving through effective negotiation. Manage customer and third‑party expectations throughout the lifecycle of each claim. Maximise revenue generation, cost control and recovery opportunities to secure the best settlement. Work within regulatory timescales and guidelines. Act as a technical mentor and referral point to support capability development within the team. Keep customer experience at the heart of every decision, following Treating Customers Fairly principles. Contribute to meeting all departmental targets and measures. What you’ll need Solid experience handling insurance claims. Good understanding of indemnity, liability and recovery principles. Good awareness of risk and the ability to follow our processes and guidelines.
