If you are looking for a firm where you can build a future and make an impact, then RSM is the place for you.Make an impact within our VAT team at RSM UK.Our VAT specialists work closely with colleagues across the firm to provide a joined‑up service to a diverse range of clients, from middle market businesses to large corporations, combining expertise in accounting, audit and all relevant taxes. As a national VAT practice, we provide the freedom to find the right balance between sector specialism and general advisory, as well as an opportunity to initiate and develop new areas of focus for the team.ResponsibilitiesIdentifying and advising on VAT planning opportunities and undertaking specialist technical assignments.Identifying, interviewing and converting prospective clients and assisting other departments in the research and preparation of formal proposals for new work.Being the principal point of contact for clients on VAT queries and work closely with partners, directors and associate directors to manage a client portfolio.Developing an advanced level of technical knowledge through personal development opportunities.Working in collaboration across service lines to proactively seek opportunities to generate new business in the region.RequirementsPreferably CTA or ATII qualified, or equivalent, ideally with an accounting qualification such as ACA or ACCA.Proven experience in client handling and project management.Proven tax experience in producing high quality work within budget.Proven indirect tax experience and effective team leadership skills.An interest or aptitude for business development.What we can offer youWe recognise that our people are our most important assets.
