Own and evolve AJ Bell’s internal developer platform (Backstage) and toolchain, enabling product teams to self‑serve for common needs. Drive adoption of modern productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot / GenAI integrations, enhancing speed, quality and developer experience. Embed automated quality gates, approval workflows and policy‑as‑code into the developer toolchain for compliance and auditability. Influence and standardise agile ways of working, squad structure and "definition of done" across the organisation. Define and standardise delivery metrics and reporting cadence so teams report consistently, including leading indicators for risk and capacity. Advocate for developer experience across AJ Bell, collaborating across teams to align platform work, delivery processes and controls. What Skills And Experience You’ll Bring Experience leading platform, DevOps, developer‑experience or change functions at scale, improving delivery speed and quality. Hands‑on expertise in developer tooling and platforms (Backstage, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure). Track record in defining SDLC policy and managing audit/regulatory requirements. Strong experience standardising agile ways of working across product teams while balancing speed and control. Data‑driven mindset, using delivery and productivity metrics to identify bottlenecks and demonstrate improvement. Excellent stakeholder management, influencing product‑aligned change teams and senior leaders. Collaborative leadership style, mentoring leaders and fostering a "platform as product" mindset.
