OverviewJoin the dynamic workforce as an Associate Practitioner in the Haematology/Transfusion Laboratory at Liverpool Clinical Laboratories. The role is a fixed‑term or secondment post for 9 months in a department that processes over 470,000 samples per annum across four hospital sites.ResponsibilitiesAct as an Associate Practitioner supporting registered Biomedical Scientists (BMS) in routine and specialist Haematology analyses.Operate highly complex automated analysers, performing quality control, preventative maintenance, minor repair, and manual or semi‑automated procedures under BMS supervision.Enter patient demographic information, collate results, and record data in laboratory IT systems.Assist with maintenance of analytical equipment and respond to error messages, liaising with engineers as needed.Contribute to maintaining the requirements of the laboratory quality management system.Qualifications2 A Levels/BTEC in science subjects or an HNC in a science subject, OR proven equivalent practical experience in a UK clinical laboratory.Knowledge of biomedical tests.Desirable CriteriaPractical experience in a UK clinical laboratory.Knowledge of medical terminologies.Health and safety awareness.SkillsAbility to work to high standards and meet demanding deadlines.Dexterous, numerate, and diligent.IT literate and proficient with keyboard use.Application ProcessSend your application to Rebecca Wright (contact details omitted for brevity).
