Overview WSP Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom PMCM Energy Director opportunity within WSP's Energy sector. The successful candidate will set the direction for WSP’s PMCM activities in the Energy sector, lead business development and delivery, and help establish a PMCM Energy team that is industry recognised. The role involves leveraging a personal network to identify opportunities, leading client development and bid strategy, and delivering work while growing the PMCM Energy capability and strategic plan. Responsibilities Lead development, ongoing co-ordination and updates of the 3-year Energy strategy. Lead and champion PMCM Energy related Key Account Management. Lead PMCM Energy related Business Development – internal and client facing. Lead strategic level bids and the initial phase of delivery. Provide a strategic overview of Energy markets and key opportunities, maintaining the pipeline. Lead and develop Energy client management, pursuit management and authoring capabilities. Personal Profile The ability to be a confident leader with proven strategy, business growth and delivery experience in the broad Energy sector. Flexibility, enthusiasm and commitment; the ability to engage others to achieve sector goals. A hard-working self-starter with initiative, able to set own and sector priorities. Ability to work in complex organisations in a team environment and develop relationships with external clients and internal colleagues. Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to influence at all levels in a diplomatic and persuasive manner. Ability to establish effective working relationships with executive stakeholders. Ability to work at a strategic level as well as being hands-on when required. Confident in using initiative to make things happen. Ability to work with a substantial amount of complex information and manage multiple projects concurrently. Professional manner and ability to work effectively under pressure; supportive of others in doing the same. Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines while handling conflicting priorities and offering positive solutions. Qualifications Focus on essential qualifications, skills and experience; ability to work closely with WSP colleagues and clients at a senior level. Demonstrable PMCM Energy sector knowledge and senior-level experience, ideally across multiple areas including Nuclear New Build, Nuclear Decommissioning, SMRs, Renewables, Energy Transmission. Proven key client management skills with the ability to develop and maintain excellent client relationships and drive repeat business. Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement strategy. Ability to identify and develop business opportunities from initial discussions through bid submissions and bid wins. Experience networking and building relationships in a complex organisation, both internally and externally. Understanding of the services WSP can offer and the ability to integrate them for best client delivery.
