Commodity Manager

Description The Commodity Manager for Castings & Forgings is responsible for leading the strategic sourcing activities including defining and implementing the supply chain strategy for the PRM Manchester for castings & forging suppliers in line with Emerson’s global best practices in strategic sourcing and requirements of the PRM business. We look forward to seeing your application In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be: To develop an approach for the commodity (castings & forging) and establish protocols to safeguard the approach’s implementation and longevity. To assess supplier capability, capacity, cost structure, and performance against targets. To prepare and evaluate electronic RFQs. To complete category strategies to achieve annual targets for: Timely delivery performance; Lead time; Payment terms; Cost savings; Supplier consolidation. To run sourcing projects by negotiating commercial terms and conditions with the suppliers: price lists, discounts, rebates, payment terms, RDSL contracts and mitigate price increase requests within the delegation of authority. To ensure reliability of supply by resolving supply issues and developing supply chain risk mitigation and contingency plans to improve material availability. To conduct regular reviews with key suppliers for driving continuous improvements. Maintain relationships with preferred suppliers. To perform a total cost analysis to identify improvement opportunities for low-performance suppliers. To be the point of escalation for the Tactical purchasing team and Operations for recurring and escalated supplier performance issues like deliveries and quality supporting plant needs. To coordinate collaboration efforts between suppliers and Tactical purchasing Engineering and Quality to drive initiatives that will ensure material availability. For This Role You Will Need: A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of functional experience in one or more of the following areas: Supply Engineering or Operations. Work experience in a manufacturing engineered-to-order environment. Matrix organization experience preferred. Ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and drive for results. Technical understanding. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation). Good IT skills (Microsoft Office). Professional understanding of the respective category market and key cost drivers. Good project management experience within multi-disciplinary teams. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: SAP / Oracle knowledge and experience are preferred.
