This role would suit new or existing managers with previous hands‑on experience of software development in either Java or Python, and experience of working in a feature team where your contribution is measured by the impact of the features you deliver to our customers. You’ll be responsible for leading moderate‑sized projects or features within a team. Stakeholder management skills and dealing with ambiguity are key. Some of your responsibilities will include: Coach and support team members to enable their growth and success. Collaborate with other managers to drive delivery and solve complex problems. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Apply software engineering knowledge to help stakeholders understand the delivery process. Identify opportunities to simplify, optimize, or extend solutions for the best outcomes. Mentor and develop engineers, creating a tailored and positive employee experience. Strengthen and expand leadership skills across both technical and people management domains. What We’re Looking For: Experience managing teams across the full software development lifecycle, from planning to production support. Strong background in coaching, mentoring, and assessing the performance of software engineers at different levels. Hands‑on development experience with technologies such as Java or Python, and experience with cloud tech such as AWS. Experience of writing distributed highly scalable and available backend systems & APIs. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and collaborate globally. Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. Demonstrated abilities driving operational excellence and best practices. Demonstrated experience in shipping high‑quality products and services. Able to communicate technical concepts simply and successfully, to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
